Listservs - Email Discussion Groups
NCTR operates several listservs as email discussion groups. Online
discussions allow many users to share information and ideas with a
group, but also bring together people who otherwise would not reach one
another. Email discussion groups differ from announcement lists that are
used for email direct marketing or e-publishing, in which only a limited
number of authorized users can send messages to the list.
Most of the following email discussion lists are configured to allow all
list members to send email to the group. Messages are distributed to the
group either in real-time (when they are posted) or in a digest/summary
format (once a day or week) at the preference of the
"subscriber".
These discussion lists are unmoderated (all messages are
posted immediately) but all subscriptions must be approved by the
list-owner.
