“Climate Change: Tipping Point for TDM or Tipping at Windmills" Netconference

On December 13, 2007, the TDM Institute of the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT) and the National Center for Transit Research (NCTR) at the University of South Florida held a netconference on Climate Change: Tipping Point for TDM or Tipping at Windmills.

Climate change is all the buzz. Terms such as “carbon footprints”, “LEED buildings”, and “carbon trading” have entered the lexicon of transportation demand management (TDM) professionals. So what does it all mean? Is climate change the tipping point opportunity to institutionalize TDM in both private business plans and public transportation planning? Or is this windmill tipping for TDM, a distraction or just the flavor of the month? The panel discussed the buzz and interpreted what it may all mean for the TDM community.
