Journal of Public Transportation Editorial Board
Discusses Bus Rapid Transit
On August 15, the Journal of Public
Transportation (JPT) at the National Center for Transit
Research presented a live webcast on the subject of BRT. A
distinguished panel of nationally recognized members of the
Editorial Board of the JPT provided their views on vital
questions, such as:
- What do you think are examples of successful BRT projects in
the USA?
- What do you see as some of the strengths and weaknesses of
BRT systems?
- Given the tremendous variation in the size and components of
BRT systems, how important is it to develop a consensus
definition of BRT?
- Do you have any thoughts on the best way to handle BRT in
the reauthorization of TEA-21?
- What are the areas related to BRT that you feel could
benefit from additional research and that you would like to see
articles submitted to the Journal of Public Transportation?
